NOW That’s What I Call The USA

NOW That’s What I Call The USA
The newest compilation is coming out from NOW and this one is just in time for the 4th of July and fittingly a portion of the proceeds will benefit the troops and their families.

In these times where it is almost politically correct to proclaim that you are American and proud of it, the songs on this CD will bring you back to a time where things were simpler. It is a given that Lee Greenwood’s hit God Bless the USA would be included on this album. It has become the country anthem for fans. Remember that horrific day in September when everyone felt so shocked and unsafe? This was the go to song for country radio.

Trace Adkins with his thoughtful Arlington is a great addition and I am glad to hear it on the CD. Billy Ray Cyrus is included with Some Gave All, along with Tim McGraw with If You’re Reading This. All three of these speak to those military families that have lost someone in the line of duty so that we can all enjoy the freedoms that we have today.

The only omission that I noticed was Toby Keith, though one of his songs did make the album sung by 4Troops, Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue.

The majority of songs included on the CD will and should make you think about and cherish the ideals and freedoms we take for granted. Brooks & Dunn with Only in America and Montgomery Gentry with My Town brings home the dreams that people have and can make come true by living in the US, things that would not happen in other countries.

Carrie Underwood’s All American Girl and Phil Vassar’s American Child brings home to every parents heart the dreams that they have for their children at birth and beyond. Especially for those little girls that have the freedom to make their dreams come true, careers that in other countries are totally off limits to women, including voting or just owning property.

What patriotic collection would be complete without The Star-Spangled Banner? The rendition included is sung by 4Troops. In case you do not know, 4Troops consists of four Iraqi war veterans who have released their first CD, a portion of the proceeds from the CD will be donated to charities that support troops and their families.

The fun thing, I have 5 of these CD’s to give away to my readers. Pop into the Country Music forum to register and try to win one of these wonderful CD’s!
